Simple Secrets: 7 Principles to Inspire Success by Kathy Davis

I’m so excited that my new book is now available! It was a joy to write, and it was actually prompted by a question I was once asked in an interview: “What’s the secret to your success in such a competitive field?”  The answer I gave is that there really is no secret at all. But, as I reflected upon the path my life has taken, I identified 7 principles which have helped to guide my journey.  And it struck me that these tips might be helpful to pretty much anyone, no matter where they are in life. In this book, I share some of my personal story, along with the principles that have guided me, in the hope that it will encourage others to pursue their own paths with passion. Kathy’s new book is now available for sale in our Kathy Davis Gallery store AND in our online store.

Crafts: Trashed: A Creative Recycling Studio
Located in Historic Downtown Concord, North Carolina, Trashed is a creative recycling studio that offers a creative environment to learn and enjoy the craft of repurposing while raising environmental awareness. They offer a variety of classes and workshops that use materials intercepted from the landfill and “up-cycled” into new, high quality products. If you are in the Concord area, check out the classes they offer or if you’re getting rid of some things, check their list of items they are always accepting as donations. If you live outside of the area, check for local crafting studios for classes or making donations.

Charity: Dress for Success
One way to start the New Year out with a clean slate is to go through your closet and rid yourself of things you don’t wear anymore. If you are like me, you are holding onto some outfits that only take up closet space. Here’s a charity that takes donations of gently used professional work attire. Dress for Success is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women located in more than 125 cities across 15 countries. Their mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. To find out how to donate or become involved with Dress for Success, visit their website.
