Then: Melissa & Nancy   Now: Nancy & Melissa

What is the most special moment you shared with your Mom?

Becoming a mother myself really made my relationship with my mom special. It brings a new understanding to who she is and it is always fun and comforting to share stories with her about my daughters.

What favorite things did you do with your Mom when you were growing up?
My mom helped foster my creativity at a pretty young age. I remember when my brother and I were bored, she would always draw an abstract shape with black marker and we would color it in with a rainbow of colors. I’m sure she was happy to get us off of her back with just a simple scribble on paper – I doubt that she thought she was planting a creative seed.

What makes her better than any other Mom?
She is resilient and has a very calm demeanor. You know that she will love and support you even if she doesn’t agree with you.

What’s the best advice your Mom has given you?
Never burn bridges. (Even when you really want to!)
